MY TWO CUSTOM WARWICK CORVETTE BASSES

My Two Custom Warwick Corvette Basses – The Story Behind Them

G’day legends! I get heaps of questions about my Warwick basses—especially those two custom Corvettes you’ve seen in my vids. Here’s the full story behind them.

The First Build – 2008 Custom Warwick Corvette

This one’s where it all started. A 2008 Custom Shop Corvette—Ovangkol body & neck, and one MEC pickup. Over the years it’s had a few mods: new ebony fingerboard, inlay, refret, carbon rods added in the neck for extra stiffness, preamp tidy, and a full restoration. It’s been my workhorse. Studio sessions, tours, you name it—it’s done the rounds and still delivers every time. I swear it plays like a piano now.

The Second Build – 2023 Custom Warwick Corvette

Fast forward to 2023, and I was ready for something new—basically a neck-through version of my ’08 model. I worked with Warwick’s Custom Shop again to create a modern twist on the Corvette: bubinga body, wenge neck, ebony fingerboard, and a wenge and bubinga laminate neck. Tonally, it’s a monster—it’s heavy AF weight-wise, but I love that. Now I have two Corvette trucks that deliver the goods; they play and sound a little different from each other. The puzzle is complete.

Massive thanks to Warwick for allowing me to use the behind-the-scenes making of footage they put together. It’s unreal seeing your bass come to life from start to finish.

Watch the video and you’ll know exactly how much they mean to me. Got questions about the builds or specs? Drop a comment—I’m always keen to talk bass. Part of my tuition is about gear understanding and how that relates to bass tone and your overall musicianship. Don’t stab in the dark. Hit me up with any questions on these basses.

You can view the video here.

I really hope you enjoy it.

Onwards and upwards.
